Experiential pods designed to show the future

The challenge:As the Premier Partner and Official Banking Partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, Emirates NBD wanted to establish itself as the banking partner of the future. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, creating an immersive experience without relying on VR or AR posed
a significant challenge.

Introducing Future Banking Pavilion:Spanning approximately 3,000 square feet, the Future Banking Pavilion featured five distinct pods each housing immersive, interactive, and engaging exhibits.

The exhibits included: 
  • Urban Farming: Showcasing how UAE residents can contribute to food security through sustainable urban agriculture.
  • Music Marketplace: Bridging the gap in banking services for gig economy workers by enabling self-employed music artists to independently manage both their music 
    and finances.
  • Quantum Computing Game: A gamified educational experience that allowed visitors to step into the role of the bank’s fraud prevention officer.
  • Personal Data Economy: Imagining a future where digitally active individuals can control and monetize aggregated, anonymized personal data.
  • Green Citizenship: A sustainability-themed exhibit featuring a smart mirror that educated visitors by tracking and rewarding their positive environmental and health-related actions.
